QUALITY ASSURANCE
How Quality Is Protected in Malaysia
Malaysia has a clear national system for recognising programmes and managing international student visas.
The MQA accredits higher education programmes in Malaysia. Accredited programmes are listed in the Malaysian Qualifications Register (MQR), which anyone can check online.
We always recommend programmes that are accredited or provisionally accredited.
Universities and colleges in Malaysia operate under the Ministry of Higher Education, which sets the rules for public and private institutions.
EMGS manages student visa (Student Pass) applications for international students in Malaysia. You can track your application status on the official EMGS website.
- Search the programme name on the Malaysian Qualifications Register (MQR)
- Check that the university is approved to accept international students
- Ask your counsellor for the university's official programme page
